Bridges

A solution for replacing missing teeth

A dental bridge is a non-removable dental restoration that replaces a missing tooth or group of teeth, involving adjacent teeth, allowing you to restore the functionality of the teeth and the natural appearance of the smile. Dental bridges help prevent the displacement of adjacent teeth and maintain bite stability, as well as being a safe alternative to removable dentures. If necessary, dental bridges can be combined with dental implants to replace several missing teeth at once.

Why choose Dental Art?

Our clinic employs highly qualified and experienced specialists who, using the most modern methods and materials, provide the highest quality services and treatment results. In cooperation with a dental technical laboratory, we customize the dental bridge for each patient individually. This ensures comfort and aesthetics, convenience and functionality in the long term.

What to know before the procedure

The path to replacing any missing tooth begins with a consultation with a dentist, during which the condition of the teeth and the general oral cavity is assessed, as well as various tooth replacement solutions are considered. Before installing the bridge, the condition of the abutment teeth is specifically assessed – these are the teeth located on both sides of the missing teeth and on which the dental bridge is fastened. The placement of a dental bridge usually does not require specific preparation, however, it is important to inform the dentist about any health problems, allergies and medications used.

What happens during the procedure?

  • The dentist takes an impression of the patient’s teeth and agrees with the patient on the type of dental bridge to be made.
  • The abutment teeth are prepared by removing the enamel layer so that they can support the bridge structure.
  • The dentist takes an impression of the patient’s teeth again.
  • The impression is sent to a laboratory, where an individually adjusted bridge is made. While it is being made, the patient is fitted with a temporary bridge to protect the prepared teeth.
  • When the permanent bridge is ready, the dentist checks its fit, makes any necessary adjustments and secures the bridge with permanent cement.

Recommendations and aftercare

  • After the procedure, there may be some discomfort or sensitivity, which usually subsides after 2-3 days.
  • Eat soft and easy-to-chew foods, such as soups, porridge or purees, for the first week. It is recommended to gradually introduce harder foods, such as nuts or carrots, after 1-2 weeks, when you have become accustomed to the bridge.
  • It will take 1-2 weeks to fully get used to the bridge.
  • If you experience prolonged discomfort, swollen gums, bleeding or difficulty chewing, contact your dentist. This may indicate that the bridge needs to be adjusted or additional treatment is needed.
  • To maintain the longevity of the bridge, you should take special care of your oral hygiene and visit your dental hygienist regularly.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are dental bridges?

Dental bridges are fixed dental prostheses that replace missing teeth by attaching to adjacent, healthy teeth or implants. They help restore the functionality and aesthetics of lost teeth, providing the patient with a natural smile and comfort.

When are dental bridges used?

Dental bridges are suitable if the patient has lost one or more adjacent teeth and wants a fixed, stable solution that maintains bite stability and prevents the risk of adjacent teeth shifting.

How is dental bridge installation done?

The process involves preparing the abutment teeth, grinding them and taking an impression, after which an individually tailored dental bridge is fabricated and placed. The final step of the procedure is to secure the bridge with permanent cement, ensuring its stability and longevity.

How long do dental bridges last?

With proper care and good oral hygiene, dental bridges can last up to 10 years. Regular visits to a dental hygienist and dentist, as well as gentle treatment of the bridge, avoiding excessive stress, for example, biting very hard foods, contribute to the longevity of the bridge.

Can dental bridges replace multiple missing teeth?

Yes, dental bridges can replace multiple adjacent missing teeth, usually one or two, less often three. They are a type of prosthesis that is fixed to the patient’s healthy teeth, providing a safe and aesthetic solution. In more complex cases, they can be combined with dental implants to improve the stability of the structure.

Will my insurance policy cover the costs of the visit?

Depending on the terms of your insurance policy, the costs of installing dental bridges may be covered in part or in full. Present your policy to our administrators during your visit, and they will provide you with all the necessary information.

Can I split the payments?

Yes, Dental Art offers several options to make dental bridges more affordable and help you plan your finances.

We offer the following payment options:

Payments per visit: During your first visit, your dentist will create a treatment plan that will include the number of visits and the cost of each visit. The entire treatment plan does not have to be paid for at once, but in installments upon arrival at the respective visit.

Insurance policy: If you have health insurance, your insurer may cover the costs of the treatment in part or in full, depending on the terms of the policy.

Credit options: You have the opportunity to sign an agreement with one of the credit institutions that Dental Art cooperates with to cover the costs of the treatment, thus allowing you to split the payments and plan your finances in the long term.
