Dr Jurijs Bormotovs is a certified anaesthesiologist and intensive care specialist with more than five years of experience in dentistry. He is responsible for ensuring patients’ safety and comfort during dental procedures, providing sedation and general anaesthesia for patients of different ages.
Dr Bormotovs is involved in the treatment process when the following services are required:
Jurijs obtained his medical degree in 2007 and completed his residency in anaesthesiology and intensive care in 2012. He is a certified anaesthesiologist and intensive care specialist and has passed Part I of the European Diploma in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care issued by ESAIC. Dr Bormotovs is currently continuing his doctoral studies, regularly expanding his knowledge and professional skills.
He chose to work in dentistry after seeing that sedation and general anaesthesia were becoming increasingly sought after. His goal is to help patients who experience significant fear or anxiety, or who require extensive treatment, receive dental care in a safe and as comfortable a way as possible.
Dr Bormotovs describes himself as open, helpful, understanding and supportive. When working with patients, he particularly values mutual communication, appropriate humour and the opportunity to create a positive treatment experience. He believes that professional development never ends, which is why he continues to learn and keep up to date with developments in his field.
Patients can communicate with Dr Bormotovs in Latvian, Russian and English. He also has a basic knowledge of German.
In his free time, Jurijs plays the guitar, travels and enjoys cooking. His favourite foods are grilled salmon and various types of seafood, while his favourite drink is matcha tea.
Dr Bormotovs advises patients to brush their teeth at least twice a day, limit their consumption of sweets and attend professional dental hygiene appointments regularly, following the recommendations of their dentist or dental hygienist. He believes that a beautiful and healthy smile builds self-confidence, encourages people to smile more and is an important part of overall wellbeing.
